Individual Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy is a type of cognitive behavioral treatment with an emphasis on the psychosocial aspects of an illness. It is designed to focus on how each patient reacts to certain emotional situations involving personal relationships. DBT can help identify a person’s strengths, weaknesses, and negative thoughts that can lead to quick changes in emotion. Through therapy, these thoughts and changes can be transformed into stability in mood and increased social skills.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psychotherapy that is based on the idea that the way individuals perceive a situation is more closely connected to their reaction than the situation itself. Through CBT, a patient can change their negative thinking and behavior to improve their mood and functioning.

Mood Disorder Treatment

Mood disorders are a broad category of illnesses that can be described as a disorder that causes a serious change in mood. These disorders can affect a person’s daily emotional state, leading to a decline in activity or social life. Through medication and therapy, patients can learn to manage and live with a mood disorder. Examples of mood disorders we treat are:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety Mania
  • Bipolar disorder (Manic depression)
  • Panic Disorder
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Dysthymic Disorder

Psychotic Disorder Treatment

Psychotic disorders are severe mental disorders that cause abnormal thinking and perceptions. Patients with psychotic disorders have trouble staying in touch with reality and are often unable to handle daily life. However, through therapy and medication, patients can be treated and learn how to live with their disorder. Examples of psychotic disorders we treat are:

  • Schizophrenia
  • Schizoaffective disorder
  • Schizophreniform disorder
  • Brief Psychotic Disorder
  • Substance-induced Psychotic Disorder
  • Delusional Disorder
  • Paraphrenia

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

Assertive community treatment is designed for patients who do not respond to traditional therapy and require more focused care. ACT involves a person’s home or community, which provides more comfort and individual attention than outpatient care.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Support (PSR)

Psychosocial rehabilitation refers to the restoration of a person’s relationships with their community. Through therapy, a person can improve their mental health and learn how to manage social situations
