Intensive Outpatient Therapy Program

What is IOP?

Our intensive outpatient programs (IOP) offers a treatment program for adults and adolescents who are in need of intensive care but wish to maintain their daily lives. Patients who are struggling with addiction, serious behavioral or mental illnesses, or have recently been hospitalized are ideal for an IOP.

How Does it Work?

During each session, patients will participate in group and individual activities to help manage their disorders. Additionally, patients will receive continued support from their families and our providers to maintain a comforting and encouraging environment. Patients will be a part of the program for 9 or more days, depending on the level of care needed.

Mental Health IOP

Our mental health IOP is a short-term program that helps individuals maintain important components of their daily lives while learning effective ways to manage their emotions and care for themselves. The program provides an opportunity for prompt access to highly trained therapists who can help stabilize the individual and through our proven program provide near term resolution and longer term life enhancing skills. Our goal is to get people back to living as normal, independent, and productive life as possible.

Who is This For?

Individuals with some of the following signs and symptoms could benefit from IOP:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Trouble managing emotions
  • Impulsivity
  • Suicidal ideations
  • Self-harm

What about SUD?

Our Suboxone Intensive Outpatient program is designed to help a patient:

  • Reduce symptoms of withdrawal and cravings
  • Reduce the drug-induced highs & lows and frees the individual from thinking about drugs all the time
  • Provide an opportunity to focus on lifestyle changes that lead to healthy living
Through a combination of therapy groups and medical intervention/monitoring, individuals learn techniques to manage withdrawal symptoms, discontinue their opiate use and maintain lives of recovery.

Will My Insurance Cover It?

Very possibly! Many insurance plans include benefits for IOP. Benefits are plan-specific but will charge a copay for treatments similar to a doctor’s appointment. Lakeside will work with your insurance to determine what the costs will be prior to starting treatment. We will advocate for your coverage.
